As a result of the many benefits I received as part of the initial assessment Hilary decided she knew how to start the fundraising and set up a campaign at Go Fund Me. I was pretty sure it wouldn't be a success however, I have been proved wrong. 212 incredible and very generous people, some that I know and some that I don't know, have all made donations. After less than a month she was proved right and we made the target.

The analyst in me obviously had to produce a graphic to show how the donations were coming in. It is fairly obvious that there was a big change in the donations from 13th April. That was the day that my friend Ali asked if she could post about the campaign on the "With Me Now - Paid Supporters Group" on Facebook. For those unaware of it "WMN" is a weekly pod that is "About parkrun passion by passionate parkrunners". The Supporters Group is a subset of this who make small contributions to help offset the costs associated with producing the pod. The administrator of the group very kindly agreed to keep the post up and over the remaining days that group of people made a significant number of donations.

Then it all started going a bit crazy in the media. There was an article on the East Anlian Daily Times (EADT) website, a lot of which was then printed in the Ipswich Star on 14th April. I was interviewed by BBC Radio Suffolk and this was broadcast on Saturday 15th April. On Sunday 16th I became aware of another article on the EADT website which had been initiated by a young man called Ben Howlett. Ben is a top junior Triathlete who was a regular attendee at Ipswich junior parkrun. In addition there was also an article on the BBC News Suffolk website. On Monday 17th there was an article in the EADT newspaper. On Wednesday 19th I was part of several news items on Greatest Hits Radio. Further details of these stories can be found by clicking here.

And then on Monday 24th April, 2 days short of a month the target was met.
