Week 7 (28th June to 4th July)

Thursday 29th June Feeling very frustrated at the moment as the heat continues to play havoc and the benefits are not as great as they have been, but encouraging none the less. Whilst sitting down in my office chair I have started to notice that my left leg is slightly more bent than it used to be before Mollii. Previously the leg would be totally out straight and slightly raised. By this I mean there is no bend at the knee. This would make it very difficult to get the leg back on the floor and relaxed. Currently the knee has a slight bend in it which allows me to use my right leg to bring the left down. Saturday 1st July What a differance, somebody has turned the heating down. Having cooked last night I was noticing a big differance all over this morning and in particular my left hand which was staying out flat instead of curled over. Decided it was time to do another pre/post Mollii clip. In the clip that follows, pre Mollii (30th April 2023) is on the left and after Mollii (1st July 2023) is on the right.
Sunday 2nd July A night without needing to wake up and use the toilet is very rare and that is what happened last night. As well as this the improvements in the left hand has continued and it is continuing to stay out straight. The balance is continuing to improve so I thought I would try walking using no balance assistance so I pushed the rollator away and took 12 small and very slow steps. For comparison purposes, Hilary took 6 steps for the same distance. When going out I left ahead of Hilary and whilst I was holding on to the door frame, I was able to step over the threshold with my left leg first and put it on the floor and then follow with my right foot. Once in the car I was able to close the door by myself and also put my seatbelt on. cooked in the evening. Monday 3rd July A second night without waking up, seriously can't remember when that last happened. Although not lifting it high, when walking to the office I wasn't having any issues with foot drop. My left foot wasn't dragging along. When I sat in my office chair my left foor remained on the floorand I was able to move the chair easilly. From my perspective although I didn't feel many benefits whilst cooking in the hot weather, the treatment was clearly still helping me and this is one of the benefits being realised. Tuesday 4th July A third night without waking up, starting to get optimistic about this very unexpected development. |
